We refer, the builder builds
Campbelltown Bathroom Renovations is a referral service for bathroom and related renovation work. We do not carry out building, plumbing, electrical, waterproofing, tiling or asbestos work ourselves. Enquiries we receive are passed on to the licensed builder we work in partnership with.
The builder we work with
Renovation work is carried out in partnership with Coastal Renovation Group, a licensed NSW builder. Licence and insurance details are provided on request.
Please ask for the licence number and a current certificate of insurance before any work begins, and look the licence up on the NSW Fair Trading public register yourself. It will show who holds it, its class and status, when it expires, and any disciplinary history.
The builder writes the quote, signs the contract with you, does the work and is responsible for it. Any warranty on the work, and any home building compensation cover the job requires, comes from the builder.
Things we do not promise
We do not claim that any person or business holds a licence, qualification or insurance other than as set out above, and we do not keep checking insurance over time. Ask for current documents before work starts.
Asbestos in older homes
A large number of homes across Campbelltown and Macarthur were built before about 1990 and may contain asbestos, particularly in fibre cement sheeting in bathrooms, laundries and eaves. We recommend an asbestos test before demolition in any home of that age.
Removing asbestos needs a separate licence in NSW, and it is done by a licensed asbestos removalist, not under a builder's licence. If anyone offers to rip out an older bathroom without dealing with asbestos first, do not go ahead on that basis.
Council and strata approvals
We can explain what approvals are commonly needed for bathroom work, but we cannot grant them or guarantee an outcome or timing. Council and planning decisions are made by Campbelltown City Council, Camden Council or a certifier, as relevant. Decisions in a strata scheme are made by the owners corporation.
